35mm,
Super 16, S-VHS, D-2, DVCAM, Hi-8, Digital Betacam, HD, MPEG, AVI, MOV -
What does it all mean? There are so many film, video, digital,
etc. formats for recording, editing, and/or reproducing moving images
these days (and this is but a small sampling), it's all you can do to
keep up with what's available, let alone get accustomed to using it.
We've
used all the above except HD, and we're looking forward to a project
where we can use that. The format used depends on several factors,
among them:
-
end
use (eg Internet or Multi-Cinema)
-
subject
(eg students in a classroom or the moons of Jupiter), and
-
budget
(eg, $100 for a wedding video (not that we do wedding videos, though
we could probably refer you to someone) or $100 million for Star
Wars VII (not that there's a high likelihood we'd be asked to
produce that particular project))
We
also work a lot in PowerPoint®. Think you know what a
PowerPoint® presentation looks like? Not until you've
seen one of ours. We take video, sound, graphics, and text and
work them all in the world's number one software for corporate
presentations for unparalleled speaker support at a board meeting or
public event or even in the courtroom.
If
a picture is worth a thousand words, one of our PowerPoint®
presentations with thousands of images is worth millions of word charts,
and a lot more exciting to sit through.
The
competition won't know what hit them.
